Acceptable use policy

BestPrompter optimizes the prompts you submit by running them through third-party model providers under our own API keys, and it hosts public pages that anyone can browse. That makes the service easy to misuse in ways that harm other users, the providers we depend on, or us. This policy sets the boundaries. It is part of the terms of service; breaking it can lead to suspension or termination.

If something here seems to block a legitimate use case (for example, security research or content moderation work), contact us before proceeding — do not assume.

What you must not do

Illegal content and activity. Do not submit, optimize, or publish content that is illegal, or use the service to plan, facilitate, or carry out illegal activity. This includes content that exploits or sexualizes minors, which we treat with zero tolerance and report where required by law.

Malware and exploitation. Do not use the service to create or optimize prompts intended to produce malware, exploits, phishing kits, or other tools designed to compromise systems, accounts, or data.

Harassment and hate. Do not submit or publish content that harasses, threatens, or incites violence against people, or that promotes hatred against people based on protected characteristics. Public pages carry your prompts to a general audience; hold them to that standard.

Attacks on other users’ data. Do not attempt to access other users’ sessions, prompts, results, history, or account data. Do not probe, scan, or exploit the service to bypass authorization boundaries — including attempts to recover the identity behind anonymous public pages or to extract non-public data through crafted prompts.

Free-tier abuse. The free tier is a per-person allowance, not a pool to farm. Do not create multiple accounts to multiply free runs, use automation or scripts to consume runs or evade daily limits, or otherwise structure your usage to defeat rate limits or quotas.

Reselling access. Do not resell, sublicense, or share access to the service, or use it as a backend to provide model access to third parties. Your account and its run allowance are for your own use; there is no team plan at launch.

Proxy abuse of model providers. Your prompts run against paid models under our keys. Do not use BestPrompter as a laundering layer to do what the providers themselves prohibit — including generating content that violates their usage policies, attempting jailbreaks against their safety systems, or optimizing prompts whose purpose is to circumvent provider safeguards.

Scraping and bulk extraction. The Explore gallery and public pages exist for people to browse, copy, and fork individual prompts. Do not scrape them at scale, harvest them to build datasets or competing collections, or hammer public endpoints with automated traffic beyond normal browsing.

Service integrity. Do not interfere with the operation of the service — no denial-of-service attempts, no circumventing spend caps or budget controls, no reverse-engineering of non-public APIs to gain capabilities the product does not offer you.

How we enforce this

Enforcement is graduated and aims to stop abuse with the least disruption to legitimate use. Draft implementation note: public launch is blocked until the corresponding server-side controls exist and have been verified; the controls below should not be published as active commitments until that implementation evidence exists.

• Rate limits. Requests and runs must be rate-limited per account. Automated or anomalous traffic may be throttled or blocked once those controls are active.
• Spend caps. Each account must have spend and concurrency ceilings on model usage. Runs that would exceed them should be paused or refused rather than silently billed.
• Content guardrails. Submissions may be screened for the prohibited categories above once guardrails are active. Flagged runs can be refused; per our billing principles, refused runs do not count against plan limits.
• Takedowns. Public pages that violate this policy can be removed by platform takedown controls (the URL returns “410 Gone” and the page is removed from Explore).
• Suspension and termination. Repeated or serious violations — including multi-accounting, reselling, and proxy abuse — lead to account suspension or termination. Where the violation is not obviously malicious, we will normally warn you first and explain what to change.
• Legal referral. We report content and conduct to authorities where the law requires it.

Reporting

If you find content on a public page that violates this policy, or you believe an account is abusing the service, report it to abuse@bestprompter.com. Include the page URL or as much context as you can.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service and its risks evolve. Material changes will be announced in the product and reflected in the “Last updated” date.
